When I decided to start my blog, one of the most challenging tasks that I had to do was to pick a name for my website. Since some blogs talk about specific topics like cars or gardening, I knew I would not be able to limit myself to one topic just yet!
I have found myself to be interested in writing blogs one day, to getting better at marketing on another day, to learning how to implement machine learning the next day! And truth be told, I was excited for each one of them. Initially, I was worried because I assumed that I was doomed since I did not have an answer to the question I was born to be a [insert job title here].
Late last year I saw this video on Ted.com https://www.ted.com/talks/emilie_wapnick_why_some_of_us_don_t_have_one_true_calling
This concept really blew my mind because I am a multipotentialite, and I realised that it was all right to be one. If you google multipotentialite right now, this is what you will see:
A multipotentialite is a person who has many different interests and creative pursuits in life. Multipotentialites have no “one true calling” the way specialists do. Being a multipotentialite is our destiny. – From Wikipedia
Thanks to Emilie Wapnick (@emiliewapnick) for introducing me to the concept and making a Ted talk on it.
